I love the colors in the new Anthem paper by Sassafras Lass - so bright and happy! I used my Silhouette to cute the title (true type font is called Waltograph) using two different size offsets to get the mats. I love to mat titles on patterned paper so they don't get lost. I also used the QK Revolution photocorners and the old 2x2 Bottlecap. I used the Creative Memories Disney punch to get the Mickey outline on the bottlecap. TFL!

Die Cut Fun

Sometimes you just need a challenge to get your scrapping mojo going. I created this Mother's Day layout for a weekly sketch assignment. It was a one photo sketch (and I admit I usually turn sketches into multi-photo layouts) and I had one good photo from Mother's Day so I worked the sketch around the photo. Just made a couple of adjustments, added some fabulous die cuts and delish Basic Grey paper, and voila....

If you can read the journaling you will see that I received the big Sizzix Creative Center workstation cart as my gift and I LOVE it! It will hold all my cutting machines and it taller than a table so my back doesn't get sore. I'll post a pic of that soon.

I created the next layout as part of Laura's challenge on the official Quickutz blog to use the Cookie Cutter bride and goom dies for another purpose. A few accessories to the bride transformed her into Mary Poppins - I'm really happy with how she turned out...

I used tons of dies here: CC Bride, of course, 2 purses from the Flirt Spring Gift Set, font from the Flirt Gift Set; Hat from the original 2x2 doll die set; Revolution Umbrella; CC Monogram circle; and the Cloud Border to make her appear like she was floating up in the night sky.

Got Crocs??

Every now and again I create a layout that just tickles me. This is one of those. I'm not sure if it is the paper or the colors or the subject, or what, but someone about this LO just makes me smile. I still remember receiving my first pair of Nike shoes with the swish back in the 70's - they were lavender with a grape colored swish and I just loved them. Don't forget to scrap those fashion trends that you will be thinking about years from now and wondering what the heck we called those silly rubber shoes...........
Here I cut the title on my Silhouette (Mandango TTF) so I could add a shadow, and the super cute croc is an Exclusive Boss Kut die created for Isn't he the cutest?

Can You Hear Me Chirping??

Ok, I am seriously trying to love my Cricut. I get frustrated sometimes with adjusting the speed, pressure and blade settings. But for this layout, I got it right - finally! I still need to add journal strips below the large photo but wanted to post this since I was so relieved to finally get a clean cut (spoiled by my Silhouette that cuts like buttah I guess). The cut is from the Sports Mania Cartridge.

Here is a closeup of the Swoosh element:

Quickutz Magnetic Storage Solution

Ok, so the Quickutz Magnetic Binders and Magnetic Refill Pages seem to be sold out everywhere. My dies were getting out of control so I came up with an inexpensive solution to 'hold me over' but I think I'm going to keep them this way. I had a few of the old 4x4 Library storage binders sitting around empty (because I changed my 4x4 storage) so I decided to put them to use. I picked up a package of Quickutz adhesive backed Magnetic media which comes in 4x12 strips and is cheap! I simply cut it inoto 4x4 squares (actually trimmed the width just shy of 4" so it would slide in and out easily). You just pull out the 'magnetic card' and it is flexible so bending back allows you to remove the die very easily. This is great for storing Spellbinders Nestabilities too. Here are a few pics:

This turned out way better than I expected and allowed me to free up a Magnetic Binder for fonts. Thanks for looking!

A few layouts...

Ok, here are several layouts from a while back that I never uploaded to my blog.
First up is one of my favorites - I adore the QK 2x2 little owl and he fits perfectly on the 12" Border branch (trimmed here). Font is QK Storybook and I also used the nesting circles for the moon behind the owl. Paper is Rusty Pickle.

Next is a simple layout I cut on my Silhouette - this frame was perfect for a family picture with my Grandmother. Paper is Basic Grey.

The Storybook font was perfect for this Circus layout. I made the clown from the QK 4x4 Scarecrow die - just changed the nose to a circle and added orange hair cut from the 4x4 Bunny tail. Paper is Creative Memories.

I used the QK 12" flower border here sans flowers. Instead of the flowers, I used the QK Cookie Cutter school shapes - they are super cute and easy to embellish. Fonts are Diesel Grand, Rockstar, and Aquarius. Paper is Scenic Route from Appleton - love that line!

I knew I needed the exclusive QK 2x2 monkey die when I saw it because I had these pictures at home. Fonts are Storybook and Khaki SM. Also used the 4x4 vines. All QK. Background paper is Creative Memories.
